On June 11th & 12th, the newly constructed Cymbaluk Medical Tower at Providence Regional Medical Center will open its doors for a community Open House.  After its inaugural Open House, the medical tower will open in stages over a two-week period, starting with the Emergency Department on June 14th. 
The Lynnwood Recreation Center, which originally opened in 1976, just reopened its doors this week after undergoing $25 million in improvements.  The center boasts 16,000 s.f. of new space, with much of the focus on a new recreation pool and two water slides.

On April 2nd over 6,000 baseball fans celebrated completion of $30 million of offseason renovations to Cheney Stadium, home of the Tacoma Raniers, the Seattle Mariners' AAA Affiliate.  The 96,000 s.f. project is the first full renovation of the stadium in 51 years.  To learn more about the open house, click here.

A community festival was hosted by Bertschi School, an independent elementary school on Capital Hill in Seattle, to celebrate the opening of its sustainable science classroom on February 11th. Lauded as "the greenest building in Washington," the building features an ethnobotanical garden, cisterns for rainwater harvesting, a green moss-mat roof, composting toilets, natural ventilation, radiant floor heating, a living wall of tropical plants to treat grey water, and solar panels which produce all of the building's energy. 
Ribbon cutting celebrations officially opened the Harborview Norm Maleng Building (Inpatient/Emergency Building) on June 17, 2008.

In November 2007, the FY04 Fort Lewis Whole Barracks Renewal project was awarded the Design Build Institute of America's top award for a Design-Build Public Sector Building of over $15 million value.

In the spirit of fun and goodwill, Hermanson employees donated 8,628 pounds of food, toiletries and child-care supplies, along with over $2,000 in donations to the Kent Food Bank.
