Lawton Elementary School Cafeteria

Ballard, Washington | Specialty Metals

Tasked with overhauling the cafeteria's serving system at Lawton Elementary School in Ballard, our Specialty Metals team demonstrated expertise by dismantling the existing setup, repurposing the existing heating-cooling system, and fabricating a new service area to meet stringent food-grade standards.

The project scope included welding repairs, achieving a 120gr minimum finish for food safety, and custom fabricating an infill section to integrate with the existing service station seamlessly. One of the significant challenges was retrofitting and modernizing preexisting equipment, enhancing functionality while relocating controls for operational efficiency.

Hermanson's Specialty Metals team, with over 40 years of experience and a 32,000-square-foot facility equipped with the latest technology, is committed to delivering excellence in metal fabrication. Our projects range from functional to aesthetic, utilizing materials like stainless steel and copper to meet diverse client needs.

This Seattle Public Schools project underscores our ability to navigate complex challenges and deliver tailored solutions, reinforcing Hermanson's position as a leader in specialty metal services for educational institutions and beyond.

Special acknowledgments to our team for strategically handling equipment logistics, controls and wiring management, and transforming a compromised assembly into a functional, professional-grade kitchen area.
