After three years of steady progress and teamwork, the new Mary Bridge Children's Hospital campus has reached its finish line.
This expansion includes a new inpatient hospital tower, an ambulatory building with specialty clinics and urgent care services, and new parking structures that will support staff, patients, and families.
Hermanson has been part of the project since 2020, working alongside the broader team as a mechanical partner from early design through construction. Through a design-assist approach, our team collaborated closely with the owner and project partners to help shape system decisions, support the project budget, and keep the work moving forward.
In addition to providing full mechanical scope, Hermanson worked alongside the project team to keep coordination efforts aligned as the design progressed. This level of early involvement helped create a more streamlined path into construction and supported a more connected, team-driven process overall.
That collaborative approach is something our project partners recognized throughout the process. Randy Gunn, Senior Estimator at Layton Construction Company, shared:
“Hermanson has been a key partner on this project from the start, helping guide early decisions and support the overall project budget. Their team brought thoughtful ideas throughout preconstruction and played an important role in moving the project forward.”
The project was also shaped by the care and mindset of the people in the field. Matt Henderson, Construction Support Foreman, brought a strong sense of responsibility to the work each day, focused on creating a healthy environment for the children this hospital will serve.
He often reminded the team of the importance of the space they were building, sharing, “I treat this building as if my own kids were being cared for in this facility.” That perspective helped ground the work in what matters most for the families who will rely on this hospital.
This kind of partnership is what made it possible to carry the project from early planning through completion, with a shared focus on doing what was best for the project and the community it serves.
Hermanson is grateful to have worked alongside a dedicated group of partners to help deliver a facility that will serve the community for years to come.
