Congratulations to Hermanson Sheet Metal Detailer and former Trimble Foreperson, Vanessa Carman, for being recognized as one of NABTU's Tradeswomen Heroes this month. Vanessa was nominated based on her advanced skills and willingness to mentor other women entering the building trades.
The Tradeswomen Heroes Award is a joint effort between NABTU’s Tradeswomen’s Committee and Apprenticeship and Training Committee to highlight the tremendous women workers within their affiliate unions.

The Women of Hermanson are supporting the upcoming industry film Hard Hatted Woman!
This highly anticipated film is estimated to be finished with editing by Fall 2021 and will be submitted to various film festivals, including the Sundance Film Festival in January 2022.

Last week, the Women of Hermanson hosted their 2nd Annual Networking Event at the LeMay Car Museum in Tacoma.
It was an evening celebrating the contributions of women in construction with great food, raffle prizes, games, mingling, and live music.
There was representation from all sectors of the construction industry from craft trades, general contractors, engineers, architects, and material suppliers and included career arcs from first-year apprentices to company presidents.
The evening's theme was The Power Trio: Opportunity // Advocacy // Empowerment and the recognition of a joint effort within companies to continue to take steps to grow a welcoming and inclusive diverse workforce.

Women of Hermanson (WOH) met last week for an afternoon of bowling, beer and comradery at Tukwila’s Bowlero Lanes.After donning tri-colored communal footwear, the ladies enjoyed a few friendly games of pins while WOH President, Jana Burbank, read out clues to identify a sister bowler. As part of Women in Construction Week 2019, the Women of Hermanson hosted a Networking Event to bring together women of all disciplines within the construction industry on Thursday, March 7, at the LeMay Car Museum in Tacoma.
Over 100 women representing the trades, engineering, architecture/design, project management and support staff gathered for an evening of food, drink, fun and fantastic views. Through the generous donations of industry sponsors, the event was free and accessible to all.
