Many of Hermanson’s clients – owners and general contractors – seek to understand the trends impacting Mechanical Construction Costs.

In the second quarter of 2023, we saw a very modest decrease in mechanical construction costs, demonstrated by our overall project price staying relatively static, dropping 0.1% when compared to Q1 2023. The pricing shows that HVAC costs went up by approximately 0.09%, and plumbing costs decreased by 0.8%.

We saw a more than 1% drop in the cost of copper pipe, and carbon steel piping costs went down an average of 1.3%.
