Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital and MOB

Tacoma, Washington | Critical Environments

Hermanson Company’s Critical Environments Group (CEG) is providing mechanical services, including HVAC piping and ductwork, for the 316,000-square-foot expansion of Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital. Partnering with Layton Construction in a Design-Assist role, our team is delivering reliable and efficient systems for new exam rooms, operating rooms, treatment areas, recovery spaces, and a parking structure. With a mechanical scope valued at $32.2 million, the project reflects Hermanson’s commitment to supporting healthcare excellence and sustainable growth. A key challenge arose when major structural and departmental redesigns were required after preconstruction, testing our ability to adapt and maintain momentum. Hermanson responded quickly, revising mechanical strategies to meet new requirements while ensuring the project stayed on track. Our flexibility and problem-solving skills highlight why Hermanson is the right partner for complex healthcare projects. The new hospital will enhance care for the community, offering advanced medical services within an energy-efficient environment. Hermanson’s experience with critical spaces ensures that every mechanical system meets the highest standards for performance and safety. Scheduled for completion by May 2026, the expansion will provide Mary Bridge with the infrastructure to meet growing demands and operational needs for years to come.
